Holiday Meals and a Gift - 2013

2013 Holiday Gift Program Results:

Spirits Soared with Gifts Galore

Thanks to support from individuals in 30 partnering groups and organizations, more than 1,000 homebound seniors received holiday cheer this past December.  In addition to providing gifts, many donors also generously provided donations to offset the expense of holiday meals.

Collectively, holiday supporters offset expenses for 1,150 holiday meals and provided 1,061 gifts and gift cards to homebound seniors and participants of three adult day service facilities.  Individuals also contributed to larger items requested through the Adopt a Senior Program.

Recipients were overjoyed to receive these unexpected surprises.  Hundreds of calls and handwritten notes expressing heartfelt gratitude have been received from SeniorServ to pass along to anonymous donors.

“These random acts of kindness delight isolated seniors who often feel forgotten, especially during the holiday season, explained Senior Volunteer Coordinator, Linda Molthen.  “A special meal and a gift delivered the spirit of the season straight to their front door.”

SeniorServ thanks the hundreds of thoughtful, committed citizens who brightened the season for hundreds of homebound seniors this past December.  Special thanks to contributing individuals from the following groups and organizations:
