Holiday Gift Program 2009

COMMUNITY SENIORSERV GATHERS OVER 700 GIFTS TO HOMEBOUND SENIORS!
This year Community SeniorServ will gather over 700 holiday gifts for their Meals on Wheels clients. Donors, volunteers, board members, and staff have all pitched in to purchase these gifts. After making hundreds of phone calls asking homebound older adults what they would enjoy for the holidays, they found at the top of the list was postage stamps, grocery store gift cards and slippers!
Community SeniorServ will have a gift drive on December 5, 2009, from 11-2pm at the Albertsons store located at 6755 Westminster Blvd. Anyone may come out and donate gifts to the homebound seniors that will be delivered directly to their homes.
Community SeniorServ, Inc., a non-profit, social service organization has provided nutritious home delivered meals (Meals on Wheels) since 1967. Meals on Wheels clients receive three meals a day, five days per week all year long. Clients also receive case management support and if needed, in-home support services such as personal care, homemaking and chore support.
In the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2009, Community SeniorServ delivered more than 800,000 meals to homebound older adults and is on track to deliver 865,000 this fiscal year.
