Social Enterprise 2010
As the older adult population in Orange County continues to grow the demand for senior services continues to increase. Community SeniorServ, Inc., a non-profit, social service organization has taken great strides to increase revenue through social enterprise opportunities helping the organization sustain it’s revenue base through the challenging economic times, by providing bulk food production in their 22,000 square foot commercial kitchen, and state-of-the-art cook-chill equipment.
Community SeniorServ’s social enterprise produces quality products and competitive pricing. Foods produced include but are not limited to salsa’s, pureed foods, BBQ sauce, pasta sauces and soups. Some of their current clients are Four Partners Incorporated, Johnny Rebs Roadhouse and Catering, and the Orange County Department of Education.
All of the revenue generated from the social enterprise is invested back into the non-profit providing sustainability to serve an estimated 865,000 senior Meals on Wheels in 2010, and over 340,000 lunches served at 27 Senior Centers. In addition, Community SeniorServ operates two Adult Day Health Care Centers and a Adult Day Care Center.
